This series of works was part of INTERCONNECTED, 2021, a group exhibition, including Penny Sadubin, Anne Richmond and Tim Rushby-Smith at Broadhurst Gallery, Hazelhurst Regional Arts Centre.
Leanne's research for INTERCONNECTED, begins to play with notions of the absurd both metaphorically and literally in relation to the impacts of colonial farming in rural areas on Dharrawal and Yuin Country.
Anyone's game continues with ongoing themes in Leanne's practice where she uses walking and observation as a process to physically and metaphorically explore sites to formulate an inquiry into place – real or imagined – between the natural and artificial within urban and rural environments. Leanne's research is often focused around spaces with ongoing histories of development, construction and attempted regeneration. Leanne uses these sites to investigate the layering of human activity that has occurred. She consider the intersections of the natural and the artificial, in particular how living things such as plants and birds adapt to these specific ever changing environment.
